Windsor, ON - High winds early this morning caused multiple power outages across Windsor and Essex County, with all E.L.K. Energy customers fully restored and most ENWIN customers now restored.
ENWIN crews continue restoring power for a small number of customers who require equipment repairs before service can be fully restored.
Throughout the restoration, crews prioritized larger outages to restore power to the greatest number of customers as quickly as possible. Some smaller, more complex outages, often caused by tree damage, took longer to resolve.
ENWIN customers are encouraged to check ENWIN’s outage map online for the latest updates. Customers in the E.L.K. Energy service area are encouraged to follow E.L.K. Energy’s social media channels for updates.
Hydro emergencies, including downed power lines in Windsor, should be reported by calling 519-255-2727. E.L.K. Energy customers can report hydro emergencies by calling 519-776-5291. Customers should always stay clear of electrical equipment and treat all downed power lines as energized.
