Windsor, ON: ENWIN Utilities Ltd. (ENWIN) was awarded the New Business Partner VIP Award at the Women’s Enterprise Skills Training of Windsor Inc. (WEST) celebration of International Women’s Day, yesterday at the St. Clair Centre for the Arts.
ENWIN engaged with WEST in 2019 as a partner in promoting opportunities for diverse women in our sector, by mentoring an intern from WEST for several weeks. The intern learned about different areas of the business through job-shadowing and assisting in the IT, HR and Purchasing departments. Since the internship, ENWIN has had the opportunity to employ the WEST intern in a temporary position.
“We are honoured to be recognized for our part in supporting a community of diversity and inclusion,” said ENWIN’s Manager of Human Resources, Rosana Kemsley, who accepted the award on behalf of ENWIN. “It is a privilege to partner with WEST in the advancement and education of one of its clients.”
The award recognizes that ENWIN reached out to WEST within the last year to support the goals and values of the organization, and demonstrated continuous support for its mission and clients.
"The New Business Partner VIP Award represents a tremendous accomplishment by our staff and HR team," said Helga Reidel, ENWIN's President and CEO. "We are proud of our partnership with WEST and appreciate this recognition. Together we are helping to create opportunity."
As a company focused on diversity and inclusion, ENWIN is also represented on the WEST Visible Minority Newcomer Women for Employment Advisory Committee.
