Windsor, ON: ENWIN has successfully restored power to all customers affected by an outage in East Windsor yesterday evening (July 17).
At approximately 7:45 p.m., a hydro outage impacted multiple circuits in the eastern part of the city, temporarily leaving approximately 14,000 customers without power.
ENWIN’s System Control and Hydro Operations teams responded immediately, dispatching crews to investigate and initiating system switching protocols to isolate the issue and begin restoration. Crews identified the source of the outage as a cable fault at the Lauzon Transformer Station. Power was restored to 13,000 customers in just over an hour, and the remainder had service back by 10:00pm.
“Our crews worked hard and moved fast to find the problem and get everyone’s power back on,” said Peter Jurgeneit, Director of Hydro Operations. “We appreciate our customers’ patience and thank our crews for their efficient response.”
ENWIN reminds customers to report any lingering issues through the 24/7 emergency line at 519-255-2727.
