Windsor, ON: There are several certainties you can bank on during the holiday season. For example, Santa taking to the skies like clockwork on Christmas Eve to deliver gifts and good cheer to all. And equally as reliable: ENWIN's Customer Service Centre (CSC) Elves' spectacular fundraising efforts for a local charity.

Through $2 Jean Thursdays and bake sales, the CSC Elves raised $1,400 for Adopt a Vet. As a Grassroots Fundraising Initiative, ENWIN will match the campaign target total of $1,000 for a grand total donation of $2,400!

Adopt A Vet is a local non-profit organization founded by a member of the Canadian Armed Forces to support veterans living in long-term care facilities that have outlived their families, and are often left in solitude during the holidays.

"It's important to us that these veterans know they are not forgotten," said Mona Khalil, Customer Service Representative who brought the organization forward to CSC Elves support. "Adopt A Vet's mission is to provide company, gifts and reminders of how much they are appreciated for their service."

ENWIN employees make a difference in our community by delivering safe and reliable electricity and water to our customers. What our community may not know, however, is the extent to which they fundraise to support causes throughout Windsor.

This year, staff raised $7,622.75! ENWIN was proud to support these efforts through donations of up to $1,000 for each initiative. Together, ENWIN and its employees donated a total of $12,622.75! Along with Adopt a Vet, these funds benefitted United Way's Tampon Tuesday initiative, Canadian Mental Health Association Windsor-Essex County Branch, Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and a local family in crisis.

"ENWIN Superheroes truly delivered for our community this year," remarked ENWIN President & CEO Helga Reidel.  "I'm so proud that we've exceeded last year's total, and it's a testament to our employees who bring these important initiatives forward. To everyone who donated to an ENWIN Grassroots Fundraising campaign, we offer a huge thank you, on behalf of ENWIN and our entire community."
