ENWIN Employees Give Back: Special Water Plant Tour Offered to Co-op Students

August 10, 2016

“It was interesting to see where our water comes from and to learn about the processes used to treat it. It’s something you don’t really think about when you go to drink a glass of water.” Washington Nguyen, Conservation and Demand Management Co-op Student

Windsor ON: On Wednesday, August 10, co-op students and apprentices from ENWIN participated in a guided tour of the A.H Weeks Water Treatment Plant.

The tour group was comprised of students from human resources, conservation and demand management, finance, IT, communications and hydro engineering, as well as system operator apprentices.

Maintenance Operator, Jody Kent led the group through various areas of the plant teaching them about water treatment processes, including ozonation, chemical treatment and chlorination.

ENWIN’s students and apprentices showed tremendous enthusiasm throughout the duration of the tour by asking questions and taking pictures.

By providing a first hand look at the facilities and processes used within the water plant, the students were granted a unique and memorable experience.
