ENWIN Utilities Ltd. Updates Regarding Power Outages

Windsor, ON: Due to the inclement overnight weather, ENWIN Utilities Ltd. (ENWIN) experienced multiple electrical outages, affecting homes and businesses across our service territory.

The majority of these outages have been caused by falling branches and trees across power lines, due to the weight of the ice accumulation. 

At the peak of outages, there were approximately 25,000 customers without power. This morning, that number was reduced to approximately 5,000 customers.  As of 4:00 p.m. approximately 2,100 customers remain without power.

The largest remaining outages are located in the South Walkerville and University areas; however, additional isolated pockets remain across the city.

ENWIN crews will continue to work to correct these issues until they are resolved. However, some outages may persist well into Friday due to the nature of the damages. 

ENWIN reminds their customers to avoid downed power lines and anything which they may come in contact with, such as puddles of water and fences.  Please call ENWIN at 519-255-2727 to report a downed power line.
