Windsor, ON: ENWIN is informing customers that the utility is aware of a barge carrying diesel fuel that ran aground Monday off the U.S. coastline, northeast of Peche Island.

ENWIN is working with the City of Windsor and the local Harbour Master to monitor and assess reports from the United States Coast Guard (USCG) related to this event.

Based on the information provided to date by the USCG, ENWIN is advising that the water produced and distributed to its customers is currently safe for consumption.

Nevertheless, out of an abundance of caution, ENWIN has enacted a heightened state of alert, and will continue to communicate with the City of Windsor, the Harbour Master and the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG), as needed, to monitor and assess information issued by the USCG, sharing information with the public as it becomes available.
